Mission

Primary tasks and mission of the EUGBC as a business-driven body is to facilitate investment and trade between Georgia and the European Union as well as with EU Member States.

Overall mission of the EUGBC is to facilitate implementation of priority areas of EU-Georgia ENP, such as: Improve the business and investment climate; encourage economic development; further convergence of economic legislation. Implementation of the ENP Action Plan (AP) will significantly advance the approximation of Georgian legislation, norms and standards to those of the European Union. In this context, it will build solid foundations for further economic integration based on the adoption and implementation of economic and trade-related rules and regulations with the potential to enhance trade, investment and growth.

In more specific terms, the EUGBC aims at promoting and assisting development of successful business relations between the EU member states and Georgia. Through its offices and representations in Brussels and Tbilisi, the EUGBC works to give guidance and practical help to the European and Georgian companies in establishing and developing their contacts, enterprises and joint ventures in EU and Georgia. With senior representation from Europe and Georgia at the Board of Directors level and an experienced management team, the EUGBC is uniquely placed to facilitate programs and events, including training and seminar activities and network-building to help companies gain and sustain contacts, information and support essential to business growth.

Vision

Develop and sustain a large, diverse and active membership committed to helping the Council deliver its mission. To be recognized in both Georgia and the EU as a serious body that offers value to its members and to the broader business community, governments and civil societies that it seeks to serve.

EUGBC Goals                   

The goals of the EUGBC are to:

  • Facilitate investment and trade between Georgia and the EU
  • Raise Georgia’s profile in the European Union
  • Promote Georgia in the EU as a place to invest and do business and vice versa
  • Assist members engaged in or considering opportunities in Georgia or the EU to attain legitimate business objectives
  • Promote and protect the legitimate interests of its members
  • Foster ties in the EU and Georgia between companies, governments and civil societies i.e. non-government organisations and institutions
