In 2008-2009 with the support of Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Civil Movement "Solidarity” implements a project on SME issues. The organization has carried out a case study and also held meetings with the representatives of government, entrepreneurs, experts, organizations of economic profile, etc. A draft law on "Small Business” was prepared based on these studies and meetings. The draft law has already been presented to the parliament of Georgia as a legislative proposal.
As a part of this initiative, "Solidarity” is organizing a "Wider Small Business Forum”, where representatives of small and medium enterprises, Georgian Government, international and non-governmental organizations, diplomatic corpus will be invited. The speakers of the forum will discuss important issues for business development, active problems and their solutions.
A tentative agenda of the event, "Solidarity” invitation letter and the text of the draft law are attached. EUGBC would like to encourage its members to take part in the forum and engage in the discussion of a new law on SMEs. We kindly ask you to confirm your decision till September 15, 2009 by e-mail or phone: kote.zal@eugbc.net, tamar.khuntsaria@bp.com, tel: 59 36 07.
The forum will take place on September 18, 2009 at 14:00, Hotel "D’plaza” (address: 5, Stanislavski Str., on Tsereteli Ave., near Exhibition). |
