On April 7-8, 2010 Tbilisi City Hall organized the 4th Economic Development Forum at Radisson BLU Iveria Hotel, Tbilisi.
The Forum provided an effective platform for cross-boarder communication between the private, public and civil society sectors a) to share best practices and experiences aiming to address the challenges local governments (regions/cities) are facing in the way of economic development and b) set goals and objectives for enhancement of future crossborder cooperation.
The sessions were offered under four thematic umbrellas: City Promotion – key factors for success; Local Authorities for Better Cities; Agglomeration Development and Environmental Dimension of the City development.
The Forum participants involved both private and public sector representatives as well as NGOs and media. Private sector was represented by companies, analysts, experts, banks, multi-laterals and donors, consulting groups, project developers, investors, financiers, etc. Public Sector was represented by local and external senior representatives of Governments, Municipalities, Associations, Ministries, International Institutions, and governmental organizations.
In addition to the Forum, on 8-10 April, Tbilisi City Hall together with German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) organizes the exhibition "Produced in Tbilisi”, where companies based in Tbilisi and producing different types of goods and services are exposed. Everybody’s welcomed to visit the exhibition centre, get familiar and purchase pieces of Georgian production. Visitors will witness number of related events, of which will be the revelation of most successful companies.
