On April 7, 2010 Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle opened the "Europe House” on Freedom Square in Tbilisi.
The Europe House is an Non Governmental Organization, founded in 2009 and serves to promote European culture in Georgia and Georgian culture in Europe. Former Czech President Vaclav Havel, famous British writer and historian Timothy Garton Ash, former Spanish Foreign Minister Anna Paloacio and others support the European House's opening.
Among the participants of the official opening ceremony were honored guests from EU member states, representatives of Diplomatic corps, accredited in Georgia, representatives of public and private sectors as well as academic institutions of Georgia.
