EU-Georgia Business Council has concluded its project: Publications and Seminars on EU-Georgia Trade (Tacis/2007/147285) supported by the Delegation of European Commission to Georgia.
In the framework of the project, EUGBC has carried out three regional seminars on What Georgian Exporters Should Know to Access EU Market. The seminars were held in Tbilisi, Telavi and in Batumi and focused on the important topics, such as: European Economic Area; Tariff and non-tariff barriers; EU’s General Systems of Preferences (GSP+) for Georgia; Online EU help-desk for the third country exporters; etc.
The participants of the seminars received three trade brochures published by EUGBC in Georgian language with an English summary:
- Exporting to the European Union market – specific issues;
- Taxation of goods imported into the European Union;
- Certification of the live animals, products of animal origin, poultry, meat of poultry and eggs exported to the European Union market from third countries.
The seminars and publications received a positive feedback and incurred a high interest among the participants. Therefore, EUGBC aims to continue the series of its publications on the EU trade as well as provision of the relevant seminars, particularly targeting the entrepreneurs in the regions of Georgia.
