On 17th of June, the EU and Georgia signed a visa facilitation agreement. The signing ceremony took place in Brussels. The EU was represented by current President of the Council of the European Union, Miguel ბngel Moratinos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain and Cecilia Malmström, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs. Georgia was represented by Grigol Vashadze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

November 21, 2007 saw the official start of the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. The grand project that has been discussed and debated for quite a long time eventually kicked off when the presidents of Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan gathered in the village of Marabda in Georgia to inaugurate the opening of construction of the Georgian section of the railway.

Free Trade Agreement signed with Turkey 2007-11-21

Three Georgian Wines Received Awards at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2007-05-02

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles was organized by VINOPRES and took place in Maastricht (Netherlands) from 29 April to 1 May 2007.  At the end of the three days of wine tasting, 1614 of the best vintages were awarded out of 5735 wines and spirits from 47 countries.

Belgian-Georgian company obtains special license for timber manufacturing with the purpose of a long-term use of forest 2007-05-01
Tiseli Ltd is very delighted to be the first Belgian-Georgian company to obtain a license for the manufacturing of timber wood from the Georgian Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. In line with the well-established reforms and in accordance with the Law on Licences and Permits the wooden plots of Ota, Zedaveli, Dzveli, Atskuri, Tiseli, Uraveli, Vale of the Akhaltsikhe Forest district were sold by auction on the first of May 2007 with the purpose of a sustainable use for the period of 20 years.
